Page-view limits

Web tracking is metered by page views — one per page someone opens on your site. Your plan includes an allowance, and you can buy more.

What counts

A page view. That's it.

Not counted: the background pings the script sends while a tab stays open (those measure how long someone read, and there can be dozens per page), and not bot or crawler traffic, which is discarded before it reaches your figures.

Counted whether or not we know who the visitor is. Anonymous visitors are the majority of most sites' traffic and they are what the tracking is for.

Where to see it

Settings → Usage, alongside your email, SMS and storage figures. The top-of-screen usage indicator includes it too, so you'll see a warning before you run out rather than after.

When the allowance runs out

Tracking stops. The script stays on your pages and does no harm, but nothing new is recorded until either:

your billing period renews — the count resets and tracking resumes, or
you add page views — an add-on raises your limit immediately.

Either way collection restarts within about a minute; there's nothing to switch back on.

Two things worth knowing

A small overshoot is normal. Page views are counted from what has been stored, which trails live traffic by a few seconds, and the limit is checked periodically. A busy site can therefore record slightly more than its allowance before tracking stops. You are not charged for the excess.

The gap is permanent. While tracking is stopped, those visits are not recorded anywhere — they cannot be backfilled once you raise the limit, because the visitors have already gone. If you are close to your limit and expect a spike, raise it first.

Existing data is safe

Hitting the limit stops new collection. Everything already recorded stays exactly as it is: your reports, campaign breakdowns and contact timelines are untouched, and remain visible while tracking is stopped.
